We are now looking for a

Cloud API Developer

to join KONE Cloud API team. In this role you will be a vital part of our Cloud API team and help us create new digital services for our business lines. You will design, develop and maintain APIs, microservices and data pipelines on cloud environments connecting elevators, escalators, building doors and other KONE systems. As we work in accordance with agile methodologies, this means that your day-to-day work will also consist of participating in sprint planning, daily scrums and retros. You will also work with automating the software delivery lifecycle utilizing DevOps practices.

The service development is done in an agile and lean way in cross-functional end-to-end teams that are responsible for delivering solutions for certain customer value. You will be working in close co-operation with the program manager, service designers (yes, we need to discover the customer value we should build), Product Owners, technical leads of the product teams and other developers in the team. You will also collaborate closely with IoT Platform architecture team as well as IT architects.

In order to be successful in this opportunity you have relevant experience in developing complex software systems. In ideal case you have been developing API services and you live the agile way. You enjoy to work with different people with different backgrounds and you are willing to put yourselves into the game. You have proven experience on working with at least one of the public cloud platforms and security is part of your daily agenda.

This position is located in KONE's headquarters (Espoo, Finland). We offer also opportunity to do some of the work remotely from home so we do not expect you to come to an office every day.

Main responsibilities

• Working closely with Product Owner and feature teams to design and develop new features
• Hands-on developing APIs for KONE Digital Services
• DevOps, unit and integration testing related to API development
• Co-developing with software subcontractors and partners in detailed level
• Collaborating closely with other development teams, software architects, partners, project managers and stakeholders

We expect you to have

• 5+ years of Enterprise application design/development experience
• Ability to work closely with technical leads and architects in the development of world-class enterprise applications
• Strong programming experience (Java/Node.js/Python)
• Preferred experience with relevant cloud technologies
  • Cloud platforms (IBM Cloud/Amazon AWS/ Microsoft Azure/Google Cloud)
  • REST API and microservices development
  • Messaging solutions (Kafka or similar)
  • Database technologies (SQL and NoSQL)
  • Caching solutions (Redis or similar)
• Experience with Agile frameworks (Scrum)
• Excellent communications and teamwork skills
• Fluent English (spoken and written)
