Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and Faculty of Education and Psychology are currently seeking to recruit 

1-3 Assistant Professors and/or Associate Professors (tenure track), starting January 1^st 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter in the position of an Assistant Professor for a fixed term of 3-5 years and in the position of Associate Professor for a fixed term of 5 years. 

The position is allocated to the university’s profiling area Multiliteracies for social participation and learning across the life span (RECLAS2), which is a joint scheme by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Education and Psychology. 

The Assistant Professor and Associate Professor is expected to conduct internationally high quality research in a multidisciplinary team on some of the three thematic areas of the profiling areas and/or at their intersections. The successful candidate is expected to have a doctoral degree in one of the following fields: language studies, social sciences, media studies, cultural studies, educational studies or other relevant discipline. 

In addition, multidisciplinary orientation as well as profound and broad methodological expertise are regarded as a merit.

Evaluation criteria is weighed taking into account the position level.

The position of Assistant Professor is filled for a fixed term of 3-5 years and the position of Associate Professor for a fixed term of five years (see the tenure track model). When an employee has been selected for a fixed-term professorship, an evaluation procedure is used regarding the employee’s merits for the next level in the tenure track. The evaluation procedure shall begin before the end of the fixed-term contract. 

In the Assistant Professor position the annual salary will be approximately 45.200 - 55.700 EUR (gross income, including holiday bonus), depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate. 

In the Associate Professor position the annual salary range will be approximately 52.200 – 64.200 EUR (gross income, including holiday bonus), depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate. 

A trial period of six months will be used when the position is first filled.

A brief (2-3 pages) written account of the applicant’s scientific research, merits in scientific activities and supervision of research work, including an account of acquired complementary research funding and  the responsibilities related to the research conducted through such funding and in international activities;

4. A brief (2-3 pages) explanation of the applicant’s pedagogical training and teaching merits i.e. teaching portfolio;

5. A brief (2-3 pages) written account of the applicant’s societal interaction and international cooperation;

6. A brief (2-3 pages) account of how the applicant intends to develop research, teaching and societal interaction in one or more thematic areas of the (Multiliteracies for social participation and learning across the life span) profiling area;

7. A maximum of ten publications, numbered in accordance with the list of publications.
