We are looking for Senior Technical Manager for server developers to join our Puzzle Studio.

Rovio’s Puzzle Studio is the home of the passionate teams behind Angry Birds Match, Angry Birds Friends, the newly launched Angry Birds Dream Blast and Sugar Blast plus several other puzzle games currently in soft launch or production stages. The studio strives to create puzzle games that are instantly fun, but that can also turn into years-long hobbies. Puzzle Studio is also exploring new ways to use narrative and character worlds in casual mobile games, with the aim of creating a true emotional connection that stays with players even when they’re not playing.

Your daily work consists of two equally interesting and challenging roles:

1) You will work as a lead server developer in a game project.

2) You will work in close collaboration with the Technical Director of the studio to carry responsibility for the development of the server developer craft in the studio.

Your responsibilities as Senior Technical Manager for server developers are to:

• Supervise and mentor server developers to achieve organizational and project goals
• Play an active role in the recruitment of server developers for the studio
• Provide technical support for the server development of all projects in the studio
• Work as the lead server developer in one game project

We are looking for someone who has:

• Excellent team management skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Proven managerial experience with 2+ years in a supervisor role
• Excellent programming skills especially in Java
• Expert experience on professional server side Java development
• Commercial development experience with 2+ years in a lead developer role
• Ability to share experience and knowledge
• Proven commercial experience in working on highly scalable systems
• Experience in working on AWS
• Proficiency in agile development methods
• Genuine interest in making successful F2P games
• Ability to think strategically

Additionally, we'd love you to have:

• Experience in game server development
• Experience with several different programming languages
