Postdoctoral researcher (single-cell genomics) for one year
We seek a highly talented postdoctoral researcher to join our Single-cell omics team at Turku Bioscience Centre, University of Turku and Åbo Akademi University (https://bioscience.fi). Our Centre offers access to a comprehensive selection of cutting edge research methods and an opportunity to be involved in internationally competitive science in a stimulating, highly networked environment.
The selected candidate will work on research projects involving the use of single-cell genomics to understand the regulation of immune responses, and support development and implementation of research methods in our single-cell omics core facility. The position also involves the possibility of a training period abroad.
Key Responsibilities
- Pursuing research projects involving single-cell genomics
- Implementation of new single-cell genomics applications in collaboration with local research groups
- Supporting researchers in the use of single-cell genomics platforms
- Working closely with computational biologists to interpret data generated using newly implemented platforms
Required skills

PhD in a relevant discipline

Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication in English

Strong organizational skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment
Desirable skills

Experience in single-cell genomics, functional genomics, cell culture, or immunology

Experience in genomics data analysis

Experience with command line tools or programming skills in R or Python

Strong scientific publication record
The salary is determined by the collective agreement system of Finnish universities. The position belong to our research personnel and the salary for a postdoctoral researcher will be 2600 – 3600 eur/month in average.
The start of employment is negotiable. The position is fixed-term for 12 months with a possibility for extension. The position is subject to a six-month trial period.
