Key responsibilities include:

The SSE SW Specialist* acts as the new product service interface to design and development teams on all new product introductions and maintenance releases on current products. This includes generating service requirements, service plans, and associated framework and content for the new product service documentation. 

Additionally, they may provide remote and on site technical support to field engineers, installation engineers, and technical support personnel who are diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing and debugging complex computer systems, software, or networked and/or wireless systems. This requires a high level of professional communication with their team, customers, management, engineering, manufacturing and other technical support.

  • Provide direct engineering engagement and support for our programs being designed and developed in Helsinki including but not limited to Varian’s Eclipse and Ethos product lines.
  • Provides engineering level support where the product is highly technical or sophisticated in nature, second-line service support has failed to isolate or fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software, and issue requires complex investigations, code changes, and/or development / validation of scripts/batch files to update data or change configuration or code
  • Provides systems level installation and service support and training content during new product roll out and is responsible to ensure feedback is delivered and incorporated into subsequent release.
  • Provides technical liaison support for field installation, warranty, and contract service to manufacturing and engineering continuous product and process improvement teams.
  • Authors service and installation related technical documentation and communication to the field service organization.
  • Reports activities in administrative systems to ensure accurate company statistical data on customer-oriented activities.
  • Ability to work directly with our engineering partners with light supervision from their management team

In this role, the viable candidate will need to be able to develop strong partnership relationships with:

  • Our global enterprise support teams, product portfolio teams, and SW engineering teams to quickly address and resolve any customer open issues across all OSS

Required Qualifications include:

  • Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent with 3-5 years of related experience
  • Knowledge of preferred techniques such as Agile, Lean or Six Sigma.
  • Highly organized
  • Customer and Team focused attitude
  • Understand the importance of process and procedure and advocate for adherence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, customers and possess good interpersonal skills.
  • Global experience in working with global teams, locations.
  • Fluency in the local language and in English, both written and spoken
  • Ability to travel to customer sites approximately 0% - 25%
