Wärtsilä Information Management (IM) supports businesses in digitizing core operations and enabling new digital business opportunities via technology and information.

We are now looking for a Software Developer to join our team. You will be part of the Cloud Center of Excellence team in IM, which is responsible for the providing the global tools, processes and guidelines when developing software in Wärtsilä. In this position, you will get to put your skills to the test by driving business goals and supporting the building of best-in-class software solutions.

The position is permanent and will be located in Vaasa or Helsinki, Finland with hybrid remote work possibilities.

To succeed in this position, you love writing code and solving sometimes complex business problems with the help of software. You do all of this while constantly balancing innovation, existing guidelines and established best practices.

Your work will focus on these responsibilities

• Work closely with business and support teams to develop and deliver software solutions using established technologies & platforms
• Manage the documentation and communication in own responsibility area
• Contribute to continuously develop software development guidelines, standards, procedures, and policies

Below will enable you to shine in this role

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. studies in Software Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent work experience
• Hands-on software development experience with Angular and JavaScript, others are considered as advantage (e.g. Java, Python)
• Experience of CI/CD (Atlassian) practices of deploying frontend and backend applications
• Experience with integration technologies (REST)
• Experience in AWS and/or Azure platforms
• Self-driven, supportive, analytical and goal-focused, with a 'can do' attitude
• DevOps practices
• Keen interest in new frameworks and programming languages
• Fluency in English
