We are looking for an ambitious and hands-on academic in the fields of Speech recognition or Natural Language Understanding to join our team for a temporary or permanent basis. You have a solid academic background and would like to get hands-on experience building practical applications leveraging the state-of-the-art research. You want to expand your perspective outside the academia, while staying close to those roots. You are an adept developer who gets stuff built fast and like trying things out in practice and measuring the results.

You will be working closely with our research teams responsible for:

• Implementing new machine learning solutions based on the latest academic research
• Helping build scalable and reusable ASR/NLU tools for internal and external use
• Contributing to our internal research projects and pilot projects
• Co-authoring scientific research based on our collaborative efforts
• Collaborating with research institutions in sharing research findings both ways

You will be a great candidate for this position if you have:

• Deep research experience in some of the following fields:
  • Speech recognition
  • Natural Language Understanding
  • Deep learning
• A track record of great academic results
• Good programming skills to develop and prototype ML systems
• Familiarity with large-scale data processing
• Good team work skills

We expect you to master most of the following tools and technologies:

• Programming languages: Python, C/C++, Java
• Machine learning: PyTorch, TensorFlow or similar
• Cloud: AWS, Google Cloud
• DevOps: Docker, Kubernetes
• ASR: OpenFST, LM tools
• NLU: Language modeling, POS tagging, Entity detection, Parsing, Lemmatization, Embeddings, FST
• Developer tools: Git, Github
