Senior Hardware Engineer
Overview:
Mentor, a Siemens business, SVSD 5G Division, is seeking a Senior Hardware Design Engineer to join our Development team in Oulu.
As the Senior Hardware Engineer you’ll be a key member in our Hardware Design team, which focus on HW solutions development for 5G fronthaul testers.
You will work in close collaboration with system architects, SW / FW and customer support teams contributing in creating winning test solutions for our customers
Job Description:
Your job involves a range of activities, which vary based on time and needs. The main responsibilities are as follows, Card level design duties: Specify, design, verify, document and test electronics hardware for high speed system testers.
Unit design duties: Unit mechanics definition and design support, EMC design, Thermal design support, Design for manufacturing, Type approval testing support.
Production technical support: production test definition, production failure technical analysis
Job Requirements:
BSc or MSc degree in Electrical Engineering
Proven strong electrical HW engineering experience
Strong interest and proficiency in hardware development (high speed digital, analog, power supply, and embedded systems HW)
Experience with HW electronics EDA tools (schematics, layout, simulations, component libraries);
Proficient use of lab equipment (oscilloscope, signal generators, DVMs, soldering tools)
Experience with HW simulation/verification tools.
Familiarity with unit design (EMC, electrical safety, thermal and mechanics)
Self-driven and organized expert with good interaction skills.
Fluent in English (verbal &writing).
Advantageous skills and experience for this position
Experience with high speed electronics design (multi gigabit lanes).
Understanding of PCB and HW manufacturing processes.
Familiarity of low level SW (C/C++/C#, Python) for HW testing.
