VTT – beyond the obvious.

Building setups for reflectance measurement in the near and mid-infrared wavelength region. Development of measurement and calibration procedure and software. Measurement of reflectance for a large number of recycled plastic samples, and data analysis.

A bachelor’s degree in chemistry, physics, or engineering. Knowledge in optics and spectroscopy is preferred. Experience with measurement software development and data analysis would be beneficial, as would competence with Matlab and LabVIEW. Proficiency in English or Finnish is essential.

Highly motivated and committed to your project. You have the skills to work in co-operation with the researchers in your team and independently when required.

We will offer you possibilities to develop your competence by working within a lively international atmosphere with challenging projects. You have the opportunity to demonstrate your suitability for future postgraduate studies and receive support from experienced researchers in the team. The position will be filled as soon as a suitable candidate has been found. The chosen MSc Thesis student will be paid a thesis fee instead of an employment contract.
