We are looking for a Commissioning Engineer at ABB Oy, Process Industries Division in Helsinki or Vaasa. You will be responsible for testing and startup of delivered electrification devices (LV, MV, HV), protection systems and protection relays in Finland and sites abroad. You will work in partnership with customers and subcontractors, as well as with various ABB units. During project implementation, you will operate as an expert in your own area and you will be accountable to a respective Project Manager. Traveling and customer visits are an essential part of the work. Travelling is mostly done within Finland.

Your responsibilities

    Receiving the project documentation and all the technical information necessary to start the commissioning activity. Filling the site report and approving the actions with the Project Manager prior to site commissioning or modification. Accomplishing the requested preliminary activities like permissions, gate pass, power on or shutdown permits, application programs download and documentation check using the proper software tools and instrumentation, according to company testing procedures. Supporting the project organization in technical solutions from the start of a project to its completion. Supporting the customer in technical solutions. Being the top expert in one or several product fields (e.g. single drives, motors and machines, fieldbuses and intelligent motor centers, low voltage switchboards, medium or high voltage switchgear). Carrying out training to customers. Collecting all the update documentation at the conclusion of the commissioning job and sending it to the Project Manager for the delivery of the “As Commissioned” documents to the Engineering Department. Collecting all the certificates and the other requested documents to complete specific project. Utilizing ABB libraries and solutions in projects. Maintaining and improving your level of engineering knowledge and expertise. Your background

    Degree in Industrial / Electrical Engineering or equivalent Electrical engineering expertise; electrical engineering for the process industry, ability to understand and apply power distribution systems. Knowledge of Low, Medium or High Voltage Systems. Knowledge of more than one of these areas is considered as an advantage. Knowledge of industrial processes. Excellent command of Finnish and good command of English. We also appreciate other languages, especially Swedish. Experience in commissioning/site operations and carrying out testing for the process industry is seen as an advantage. Ideally, you have a knowledge of relevant ABB products. You have ability to work independently and as a team member, make decisions and to avoid/manage stressful situations.
