Job Description
Patent Analytics team is looking for a maternity leave substitute who will support organization with advanced patent analytics. In this role you will gain a lot of experience in the field of patent analytics and have a front row seat to the developments in the field. This position is located in Espoo, Finland.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conduct patent analysis projects using a variety of different information sources, tools and strategies for data searching/mining and visualization of results. In addition to performing landscape and benchmark studies, you contribute to patent analysis methods and tools development.
- Support internal teams (e.g. patenting, business development, licensing, and other teams) with patent analytics. Tasks varying throughout whole patent analysis process such as portfolio searching/mining, patent list creation and coordination, checking and cleaning the data, combining and analyzing datapoints, providing statistics and visualization of the results.
Qualifications
In order to succeed in this role, you have following skills and qualifications (if you do not have all, you are eager to acquire them):
- Close to graduation or graduated with a Master's degree in economics, business, engineering or computer science
- Experience working with patents in analytics or portfolio management context, or have a good understanding of these
- Experience with one or more patent analytics tools such as PatBase, Innography, Derwent Innovation, Orbit, PatSeer, etc. or ability to pick up new tools fast
- Familiarity with at least one programming language such as Python
- Excellent skills in visualizing data using MS Office and/or other products
- Fluency in both written and oral English
- Strong initiative, analytical skills and the ability to develop creative solutions
- Attention to details
- Self-motivated to work effectively and efficiently
- Ability to work both as part of a team, and independently
