Oulu is one of Nokia's key locations with over 40 years' experience. The site is a unique Radio research, development and manufacturing center in the world. 

   

As a part of the company’s global network, the Oulu factory is Nokia Networks’ key manufacturing location for radio products in Europe. Close collaboration between factory product specialists as well as research and development departments ensure fast and efficient ramp up of new products. Oulu factory also manages product transfers and gives technical support to other manufacturing locations throughout the product life cycle.

Material Execution and Supply Chain Management are responsible for material availability in short-term time horizon by managing and continuously developing supply chain in order to fulfil customer expectations. These organizations are also accountable for Inventory management, supplier collaboration and total landed cost.

 

In this position, as a Buyer trainee you will be responsible for purchasing components, units or mechanics for base station products, or as other Supply Chain Specialist (various roles) trainee you may work related to supplier collaboration, component sales, Import & Export or iHUB operations activities. This will involve you in a daily routine where you will cooperate and be in contact with many different suppliers or other external stakeholders of ours globally. In addition, you will work closely with supply chain as well as other operations functions, such as production and R&D.

Trainee roles are great way to learn new skills and face challenges come about in a regular five-day job. Here you will learn every day about a whole range of technologies, products, systems and tools. However, it is necessary that you bring some embedded characteristics with you. Strong negotiating skills with the ability to get your point across to others on the opposite side of the table are the keys to success in this job.

Ideally, you have an engineering or commercial background. It would be a real benefit if you have some experience or familiarity of telecommunications or in purchasing, logistics, production, quality assurance and R&D. You can communicate effectively in written and spoken English and work independently or in a small team, from whose members you will get all the support you need.
