UPM leads the forest based bioindustry into a sustainable, innovation-driven, and exciting future. The competence, integrity and drive of our people make us unique. We live by our values – trust and be trusted, achieve together, renew with courage.

We are now looking for an Instrument Automation Area Engineer to join our Uruguay Development Project. In July 2019 UPM announced its investment decision to construct a ‘greenfield’ eucalyptus pulp mill – capable of producing 2.1 million tonnes of pulp each year – near Paso de los Toros in central Uruguay. The mill and related infrastructure investments exceeding USD 3 billion will result in a step change in the scale of our pulp business. The mill, forestry and related activities will create around 10,000 new permanent jobs throughout the value chain.

This huge and exciting project has now begun and your role will be beginning in Helsinki, Finland for an approximately one year, and after that time in Uruguay at the mill site. If you join from Finland you will be based in Helsinki until later part of H1 2021 and if you join from South America, you will attend engineering meetings on-line, or after flight restrictions are lifted, you will do some business travelling on a monthly or bi-monthly basis.
