At Varian Medical Systems Finnland, our R&D site in Helsinki with more than 200 employees we specialize in the development of software for cancer treatment. In our Strategic Technologies Department, we are looking for a

    Data Science Intern
    (6 to 12 months full-time position)

We are a team of experienced software engineers specialized in medical image analysis, computer graphics, statistical models, machine learning, databases, and image processing. We design, develop and validate clinical tools (components and algorithms) for cancer therapy prescription, planning, monitoring and follow-up.

As a Data Science Intern 
- you work in state-of-the-art artificial intelligence R&D for cancer therapy
- you train deep networks for automatic segmentation of organs on tomography images
- you help with the clinical evaluation of models
- you work on selected research topics in medical image analysis AI

you are
- a student of computer science or biomedical engineering
- a curious experimental scientist interested in anatomy and the medical domain in general
- a communicative person that likes teamwork across boundaries of teams
- experienced in python programming and the use of machine learning libraries such as TensorFlow, Keras, Caffe, and/or PyTorch
