THE JOB

Housemarque is looking for a Technical Artist who will work closely with Art Director, UX Designers and other Technical Artists to conceptualize and execute interface designs across many different systems in our games. The ideal candidate has an excellent artistic eye and solid technical skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supporting UI/UX and Tech Art teams
  • Creating content and material effects based on the given art style
  • Demonstrating creativity and technical ability within the constraints of console/PC game development

EXPECTATIONS

  • Experience with Unreal or Unity shaders
  • Experience in modeling and art tools (Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, Photoshop, etc.)
  • Experience in a digital art content creation pipeline
  • Good artistic skills (proportion, color, composition)
  • Ability to work independently
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • At least one shipped commercial game project

PLUSES

  • Experience as a Technical Artist
  • Experience with Unreal blueprints and the UI system
  • HLSL / GLSL
  • Experience with Houdini
  • Knowledge of game engine render pipeline
  • Linear algebra skills

This is a fixed term contract for a duration of 6 months, based in Helsinki, Finland.
