ICEYE is building and operating its own commercial constellation of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellites with SAR data already available to customers.

These satellites can take images of Earth at any time – even when it’s cloudy or dark. Information derived from these images will help our customers understand the world better and help them make more intelligent decisions. We launched the world’s first SAR microsatellite in January 2018 and have raised $65M in financing to date. We are a Finnish based international New Space company with employees from roughly 30 countries and subsidiaries in the US, UK and Poland. To support the growth of the company, we are now looking for a Senior UI/UX Designer to support our Ground Software team based in our headquarters in Espoo, Finland. As a Senior UI/UX Designer, you will work closely with our Customer Service and Satellite Operations teams to ensure we build software that is not only visually appealing, but is intuitive and addresses the needs of our users.

Your daily tasks:

• Interact closely with users to transform problems in to creative solutions
• Design new features and enhancements by creating wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, IA diagrams, interaction specifications, prototypes
• Work with users to understand pain points and iterate on potential solutions
• Work with the software team to understand the current technology stack, and inform the future stack
• Establishing a constant workflow procedure between design and development from the software team side
• Conduct user research and know when user research is critical
• Provide potential solutions and designs possibly in some tools preferably like Storybook, Zeplin

Your attributes that we need:

• 5+ years of experience working in direct collaboration with product managers, front and back-end engineers, and business or editorial stakeholders
• You are both a great visual designer and understand flows, user wants and needs
• Ability to transform ambiguity in to clarify
• Experience in creating polished mockups and detailed interactive prototypes
• Ability to communicate design solutions and rationale to stakeholders and customers
• Ability to work in distributed international teams

Bonus points:

• Ability to write HTML/CSS/JSX React Components
• Ability to create rich interactive prototypes with modern tooling eg Invision
