About this opportunity
- Monitoring changes to international accounting standards and analyse their impact on the bank's financial statements
- Implementing new or changed IFRS in the control & reporting procedures with focus on hedge accounting (both IAS 39 and IFRS 9)
- Preparing impact assessments on the bank's financial statements related to new hedging strategies and using new financial products
- Supporting in the preparation of the financial statements in accordance to IFRS
- Drive and participate in finance and accounting related projects and initiatives
- Interact with regulators and internal and external auditors on topic related to financial instruments and hedge accounting
- Securing close collaboration with Nordea’s 2nd line of defence
- Setting the direction and taking lead as the natural expert in any discussion and development around hedge accounting
Who you are
- Several years of experience working with technical accounting related to financial instruments, including derivatives and hedge accounting (the expectation is minimum 8 years of experience)
- Experience in implementing new accounting standards into existing processes across different functions
- Understanding risks associated with financial accounting and internal controls and also links to accounting key controls framework
- Hands-on experience with IAS 39/IFRS 9
- Hands-on experience from dealing with authorities
- Experience with SAP and HFM systems is a plus
- Experience with SQL and other programming/coding tools like Python is a plus
- You have high proficiency and can clearly express yourself in English in writing and in speech – and in general is a strong communicator
