We need you, an expert in internationalization! We are looking for someone to help us convince the best talents of science and higher education to choose Finland. Are you in?

We are launching a 2-year project in the autumn of 2020, together with our partner universities and other universities and polytechnics in the Helsinki area. The project is funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture. The purpose of the project is to support and strengthen the social, societal and work community integration of international staff and their families.

We are looking for an expert of internationalization and integration issues to lead the project as a PROJECT MANAGER.

The project will be carried out as three sub-projects, leading to operating models and service entities, which will strengthen and diversify the immigration process support and employment of international talents, and the societal integration of their families. The project will benefit the entire field of higher education institutions in Finland, and the results can be shared also internationally.

Tasks of the Project Manager

You are responsible for the total coordination
of the project and the co-operation between the sub-projects. You will lead the operational actions including planning, administration, scheduling, budgeting, communication and reporting. In addition, you will lead the sub-project focusing on spouse integration support. The other two sub-projects are led by University of Turku and Tampere University.

During the first year your goal is to:
- build connections and establish the forms of co-operation between the partners of the project,
- map the existing, best practices of the field and choose the best ones for piloting,
- start the sub-project under your responsibility.

During the second year you will evaluate the functionality of the procedures and enhance their ability to function as national models for other universities and polytechnics.

You will be working in Employer Branding and recruitment –team within the HR-function. We share a customer-oriented approach and believe in continious development. We further believe that this project will succeed in creating an even stronger basis for the wellbeing and competitiveness of Finnish universities and polytechnics. Here key issues are customer understanding and stakeholder co-operation.

What qualities should the Project Manager have?

You are an enthusiastic and development oriented specialist in questions of international HR and integration of international staff. You have experience in the field of higher education and you understand the challenges of internationalization as well as its significance and benefits. You work eagerly to solve the questions of internationalization.

Successful leading of the project requires excellent co-operative skills, solution-oriented way of working and an ability to manage big entities. You are able to prioritize, make decisions and promote various activities simultaneously. You promote your work towards functioning results via constructive and supportive interaction with others. You communicate fluently both orally and in writing.

In our multicultural working environment excellent English skills are a necessity. You have a suitable degree from a higher education institution.
