In our Cloud DBA Team, you'll be working alongside professional DBAs with decades of experience from various data platforms and industries. You will also find ample opportunities to work with different Nordcloud teams from application development to cloud architects as well as with our customers. Your day-to-day work can be anything from customer data migration projects to providing specific DBA services. You will also work with both, cloud-native PaaS services and standardized IaaS deployments in AWS, Azure and GCP.

Being a Cloud Database Administrator you will work with:

• Microsoft SQL server
• PostgreSQL/MySQ
• Oracle DB
• AWS/Azure/GCP

Our ideal candidate has:

• Expertise in MS SQL Server and/or Oracle DB administration (PostgreSQL would be a plus)
• Solid understanding of OLTP processing and data consistency concepts
• Experience in designing DR and backup solutions for relational databases according to a given RPO/RTO
• Ability to optimize relational database schemas
• Ability to optimise and tune queries, indexes and relational database schemas
• Ability to automate repeatable tasks in some scripting language (e.g. Powershell)
• Proactive attitude ('hold my beer - I got this' attitude)
• Communicative English in writing and speaking
• Expertise working as a member of a DBA team or as a consultant DBA.
• Experience in working in a customer-facing role(s).

Skills that would be a plus:

• Amazon Aurora
• Experience in cloud-native development
• NoSQL ( MongoDB, DynamoDB, CosmosDB, Spanner, Cassandra)
• Experience with Data Warehousing
• Skills in Powershell or other scripting languages
• Solid SQL experience, procedural PL/SQL and/or T/SQL would be a plus
• Experience with columnar databases and warehouses would be a plus
• Experience with AWS and Azure database solutions would be a plus
• Knowledge any of these: MongoDB, DynamoDB, CosmosDB, Redshift, Cassandra, BigQuery
• Experience with Terraform and Ansible
