We in the Architecture & Platforms unit are looking for a Principal Architect to help build our vision of a more secure future. This work requires an iterative mindset to work and plan incrementally towards a desired end-state. Balancing short-term gains and long- term goals is essential.

Your role is to facilitate, align, and lead the technical work of multiple senior technical teams. Building security, scalability, and simplicity into the designs is particularly important. Your role also requires coaching, leadership, and excellent stakeholder communications. You need to make sure that stakeholder requirements are always taken into account and the teams buy into and understand the design consistently. In this role, you will coach the teams on how to build better software.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Working together with multiple stakeholders to define and align our architecture across platforms, services, and teams.

• Guiding and leading technical work of multiple senior teams, including ways of working within the whole company.

• Participating in company-wide architecture and technology steering, including make vs. buy decisions.

• Participating in day-to-day operations in teams to lead them hands-on from the DevOps front line, when necessary.

• Analyzing, architecting and designing towards the desired end-state through increments, with the ability to evaluate tradeoffs between alternative paths towards the ideal end-state as well as balancing short-term and long-term goals of the company.

• Facilitating architectural planning within the unit and with business stakeholders and other technical stakeholders in the company.

• Leading and mentoring technical leads and architects about architectural design.

• Some hands-on work on the technology itself. The role is a hands-on architecting role, also leading through code.

We expect:

• Extensive experience in dev and ops of different types of software (web, backend, endpoint).

• Experience in designing, documenting, facilitating, and communicating architecture choices.

• Experience in building software in cloud native environments (AWS) and running cloud native systems.

• Experience in software security and threat modeling.

• Experience with scalable software architecture, high volume data processing, and storage.

• Coaching and leadership experience and skills.

• Great communication and facilitation skills. Ability to express yourself concisely, whilst capturing the essential and relevant elements, also for non-technical stakeholders.

• Analytical mindset, ability to consider multiple alternatives and to balance short-term against the long-term goals of the company.
