By now you are familiar with OP as one of THE formidable destinations for software developers in Finland. With all of the layoffs and YT and fewer companies hiring during this global pandemic, I’ll bet you are thinking twice about which industries are and even growing? No niin: The Job:
In our retail banking side, we are going to start a new project this Autumn, a sourcing / procurement process. With a technical architect background, you will guide that project through from sourcing to deployment to end to end, from and RFI round to RFP for planning solution to choose the proper vendor. You will lead the development work and control and guide the service integrator and application provider, using your experience in planning tools and business intelligence. You will neither implement nor code! This is more of a Solution Architect role (though internally this will be entitled Lead Developer, as we are following our OP Agile structure organically with titles).

You will be responsible for creating an architectural runway, where we have epics and features and stories. You will take part in approving and defining ready phases, you will approve all technical and non-functional implementation. You will make a list of all the non-functional requirements then lead the technical work and make approvals for each Sprint, accepting the technical aspects and non-functional features. When the Sprint is done you will approve all outcomes and approve deliverables, then of course the deployment phase, responsible for documentation and operational instructions and handover to continuous services / application management.

By taking ownership of the technology and technical aspects of this area, you will have influence on the direction of OP’s planning solution and roadmap to come. We will ultimately move from Excel to something more robust, translating drivers into actual financial plans. This planning solution will be SW as a service solution from the cloud, so you will not need to worry about infrastructures or servers.

The Tribe:
Core Finance Solutions (although its more of an IT Area, than a Tribe), consisting of 30 OP employees and 100 externals.

The Team:
IT area, Financial Reporting. You will work on a team of 10 Lead Developers, having weekly meetings where you will share your worries and issues and then resolve them together. You ware essentially in KeTe (Development and technology), but you will also co-mingle and work closely with the business side in Retail Banking. You will have plenty of support from your team, including other reliability engineers, product owners, system integrators, architects and process owners. This is still an independent role though : ) and you will not have any direct reports.

Who Are You:
You have Financial Management solutions both on-premise and on cloud platforms, experience with the following products is an advantage:
- Planning systems (such as Cognos, SAP)
- Financial management systems (such as SAP, Clausion, Basware)
- Analytics, machine learning and reporting solutions (R, SAS, Tableau, PowerBI ...)
- Data storage solutions (SAP BW, Teradata, MSSQL, ..)
- Integration solutions and integration patches as well as API solutions in a hybrid IT environment
- You also manage Office, Confluence, Jira, BizzDesign (or similar) tools

You have several years of experience in the world of implementation architecture for economics and planning systems. You have a background in the development and design of information solutions and experience in solutions for large organizations. Your particular interest is in developing financial management and reporting solutions and operating models.

We are modernizing and digitalizing these solutions, we use modern techniques like API management, mobile devices in publishing, any other modern technique when doing these kinds of applications. Even the tools themselves, we pick up the most leading tools from the market, which are thoroughly analyzed and vetted and chosen.

In this solution, we need business intelligence capabilities, meaning that the person needs to deal with data warehousing, ETL tools, reporting and analysis, data transfers, Hadoop, virtualizations, modern dashboards etc

Why else would you want this job:
Lots of things to do in this  IT area, huge plans and initiatives to build. This is just a starting point, this planning solution job. After you get experience with this, you will have a lot of opportunity to leverage to other similar application environments and OP techniques, which will cover most of the areas what you can do around financial solutions or IT in general. In Finance, we are in the end of the food chain, so everybody who generates any kind of data, we will consume that. We own the business information. We have data mgt teams and enterprise data warehousing and risk mgt and authority reporting etc, but everyone depends on us.

Requirements:
- Experience in managing and working with architectures and technologies in your area of specialization
- Experience in the implementation and development of design and calculation solutions
- Experience in implementing reporting, analytics and Dashboard solutions
- Experience in drafting non-functional requirements and in-depth knowledge of capabilities
- Experience in designing systems integrations, interfaces and dependencies in a hybrid IT environment
- Experience in implementing data warehousing solutions
- Knowledge of test automation methods
- Competence in total financial management solutions
- Experience in application development
- Adequate technical product platform expertise, such as application servers, virtual platforms, databases and firewalls
- Proficiency in English and Finnish (ideally, but if you are missing Finnish, lets still talk)

Our Process this Summer:
Our recruitment team is working actively throughout July, so we will be setting up calls with you to get to know you!
