We are now looking for a

Project Coordinator

to join the Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (ITEE), AIF Team at the University of Oulu. Allied ICT Finland is the largest research to business ICT network in the Nordics.  

AIF Team facilitates Project Club which is a forum to accelerate the preparation and submission, increase the efficiency of implementation and ensure the impact of joint ICT-related projects. Club consists of representatives from companies, research organizations and public entities.

Your task is concentrated on project preparation and submission phases to ensure adequate amount of submitted high-quality projects.

The first key task is to ensure adequate amount of submitted project applications that lead to positive funding decisions. All public funding instruments (local, national, international) should be effectively utilized, direct funding from customers is also encouraged.

The second key task is to compile multidisciplinary ICT-related project ideas that originate from Project Club participants.

 

To succeed in this job, you will need to:

  • Network with research groups in University of Oulu and Key Account Managers (KAMs), companies and public entities in order to screen and identify potential topics for collaboration projects.
  • Create and maintain a constant flow of high-quality project ideas to be further developed together with researchers, companies and public entities.
  • Ideate, prepare and ensure submission of high-quality multidisciplinary ICT-related joint project applications

 

The candidate is required to have

1)      Background, understanding and track-record of successful project portfolio management. 

2)      Ability to co-operate with different entities participating in joint project preparation and implementation

3)      Excellent communication, social media, deal-making, presentation and negotiating skills

4)      Good networking and network building skills to expedite value capture from interfaces, channels and partners to collaboration/home-organization targets

5)      Higher academic degree in a suitable area.

The salary will be based on the levels 8-9 of the demand level chart for other staff of Finnish universities. In addition, a salary component based on personal work performance will be paid (maximum of 50 % of the job-specific component).

The position is filled as of April 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter. The duration of the job is 12 months. A trial period of 6 months is applied in the position.
