We are now looking for a Head of Engineering - a developer with the passion to lead our tech team towards success. Your main responsibility is to work as a right hand man to our CEO and make sure that our technological challenges are met in 6 months tiers. 

To be successful in this role, you are a Full-Stack developer with an understanding of different technologies and agile development. You will have a key role in scaling our dev team and our product with your technological know-how and leadership skills. You should be confident managing a team while setting goals, budgets and timelines for various projects

Main responsibilities:

• Managing software development projects by setting requirements, goals and timelines together with our Head of Product
• Developing operations and processes in product development
• Secure scalability of our service with IT- and product infrastructure development (automatic cloud scaling, service load balancing, high availability and high resilience)
• Contributing to product development efforts with hands-on programming
• Documenting and educating the team on IT and development processes
• Improving our CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Developing IT-security and overseeing those with our CTO
• Building the technological strategy, practicalities and processes
• Making sure the tech team has the right people hired, trained and kept happy

Requirements:

• Hands-on experience in back-end and front-end development
• Good understanding of agile methodologies
• Leadership abilities with a strategic mind

Our tech stack:

Our tech stack at Sniffie consists of Node.js & Python on the backend, React on the frontend and GraphQL in the API layer.

Location:

The job is located at Sniffie HQ in Helsinki, Finland. However, due to the current circumstances, we work mostly remotely.
