I am Patience Allen and I am leading Privacy Team at Telia’s Common Products & Services IT unit. We're a mixed bag of people, sharing the same vision: to shape the future Telia and realize our customers’ goals. That's why we need the best and brightest on this ride.

Right now, we are looking for a Business Analyst - Privacy to strengthen our IT team. We need you!

Your next challenge?

Telia is on a journey towards becoming the New Generation Telco. We are transforming the industry with non-traditional telecom services as well as with lots of exciting new development around 5G. In the Party Manager Team, this means developing a new solution from scratch, continuously working towards more efficient IT- solutions, building in-house competence, continue our ongoing DevOps journey as well as challenging our way of working.

The Privacy team is responsible for Data Subject Rights management across all brands for Norway and soon for the other Telia countries. Telia is on a journey to transform from being subscription centric to becoming user centric and GDPR and Data Subject Rights management is an important part of that journey.

As Business Analyst you will be part of the start of a new cross-country IT service. We already have developers in each country and, along with 1-2 Senior developers, you would be responsible for the Norwegian Solution. You would start your journey making sure everything in Norway is integrated and compliant and then begin to look at the solutions in other countries as we have more team members join our area. So close collaboration with different teams within the company is an important part of this role. This includes other development teams as well as marketing, quality assurance and customer care personnel.

You will be responsible for facilitating customer centricity by connecting customer information across our 100's of systems in 6 countries. This is an important role for Telia in their digital transformation journey and this team is building a solution which is critical for the teams working with customer engagement, global business, insight, and many other areas.

The Privacy, Data Subject Rights system currently has different solutions implemented in each country. We need to gain a better understanding of how those are implemented, map the needs in each country and figure out how to switch any remaining subscriber centric based architecture and systems to a streamlined user centric set-up. The goal is to enable modern data subject rights management for customers across all areas (B2C, B2B, B2O, and omnichannel capabilities) providing a consistent experience across brands.

We will need to define the target Enterprise level architecture and basic needs and this role will be critical in that process. You will also be involved in how to create the solution architecture for how to turn those high-level plans into actionable tasks.

The main responsibilities will be:

  • Analyse business and user needs for new projects and systems
  • Coordinate cross-functional collaboration with the whole team as well as other teams, developers, stakeholders and enterprise architects
  • Make sure that teams that need to work with, or support, the solution get enough training and documentation
  • Workshop facilitation; journey mapping, user stories, user flows, etc.
  • Create solution and high-level technical documentation for other teams and stakeholders
  • Make improvements in Jira to make sure setup fits with how the team works
  • Be a contributing member of the project team from project inception to completion
  • Break down the high-level architectural plan into epics
  • Design and work out architectural solutions based on concepts and feature needs
  • Support our developers making sure that solutions are scalable, maintainable and architecturally sound
  • Drive work for the team and related areas dealing with integration issues with new systems upon need
  • Together with the team:
    • Ensure and validate the technical feasibility of the proposed designs and user flows
    • Make sure that the solution meets the current accessibility requirements as defined by Difi and Norwegian laws and regulations
    • Define the product roadmap, scope, and prioritization of tasks and backlog
    • Work according to modern, agile and devops software development practices and help create good engineering practices

Who are you?

Since you are going to be working closely together with many different development teams as well as other architects you need to have good communication skills and you are a true team player. You are driven, solution oriented, take ownership for getting things done and are not afraid to initiate new solutions or initiatives that can benefit our area and help us reach our goals. You also like to keep your eyes on the details, maintain a good structure and succeed in following up in a diverse variety of people and tasks. English is our common language. If you speak Scandinavian as well, that is great!

We know the spec may be one that most people won't fill completely, so we are primarily looking for familiarity with systems, ability to learn, the right attitude and a willingness/ability to assume responsibility for a large, critical system. That will ultimately be more important than experience with the exact elements of the stack. What I really want is someone who can look at the system and think, “Sure, that looks interesting. I bet I can figure all that out…”

Your experience:

  • An academic degree preferably in computer science or similar
  • Several years of experience as a Business Analyst, Functional Architect, or Solution Architect
  • Experience from working with agile methods, especially useful would be SAFe 5.0 or ITIL 4.0
  • Understanding of how Cloud based solutions function (AWS preferred)
  • Knowledge of GDPR and it's impacts on technology (experience with GDPR solutions)

Additional useful skills:

  • Functional/Solution Architecture experience
  • Scrum master experience

Personality:

  • Able to work independently as well as in a team
  • Take ownership, we expect members to be able to take initiative and see things through
  • Get things done, no task is beneath you, and you understand that talk is cheap, implementation is gold
  • You like to play devil’s advocate and to challenge decisions and status quo
  • A curious mind and willingness to step outside your comfort zone, eager to learn new things

Home for new opportunities

You will be surrounded by supportive colleagues in a transparent environment with a solid culture for feedback, knowledge sharing and one that promotes ideas and thoughts. Along with general employee trainings for personal growth, you will have opportunities to attend other trainings to make sure you are equipped with the tools you need to reach your full potential. If you dare to, this is the place to grow, but only if you make sure to grab the opportunities coming your way.

We are a great bunch of people with different skillsets, cultural backgrounds, age span, gender and nationalities and we have great fun together. Diversity is something we really value, and we are eager to get to know you who can bring a new perspective to the table by understanding the diversity of our customers in a way we haven’t yet.
