The Department of Agricultural Sciences invites applications for

RESEARCH ASSISTANT

for developing electric powertrain designs for an agricultural field robot. The employment is scheduled to commence in November 2020 and last six months. The work will be conducted in the Agrotechnology research group (https://www.helsinki.fi/en/researchgroups/agrotechnology). The purpose of the work is to design an electrical powertrain and its control system for an autonomous field robot. The work include component sizing, performance analysis, and control system development by using modern modeling and simulation tools and methods.

Depending on the appointee’s qualifications and experience, the salary is 2100–2200 euros/month.

Requirements:
• Applicant should have a background in electrical and mechanical engineering.
• Good programming and modeling skills are expected (MATLAB).
• Applicant is expected to be able to act independently as well as to collaborate effectively with members of a larger team.
• Good level of spoken and written English is required.
