is looking for a

RESEARCH TECHNICIAN/LABORATORY COORDINATOR

for the period of 1.12.2020 – 31.5.2022 (the starting date can be negotiated) to assist with conducting molecular biology and genomic analyses under the supervision of post docs and/or PhD students e.g. DNA and RNA extraction, next-generation sequencing, cell biology techniques, RNAseq, ChIPseq ATAC-seq, single-cell technologies. Additional tasks may include helping maintain experimental Atlantic salmon populations, sampling of Atlantic salmon for molecular analyses and assisting other lab members as needed.

The successful candidate will likely have experience with some of the above-mentioned techniques and be enthusiastic about learning others. They are also expected to be highly motivated to play a key role assisting an international team and have excellent organizational skills and good English communication skills. We appreciate a cooperative attitude and enthusiasm for learning new skills.

The salary is based on levels 6-8 of the job requirement scheme for other personnel in the salary system of Finnish universities. In addition, the appointee will be paid a salary component based on personal work performance. The position is offered with a six-month trial period.
