We are looking for a Solution Manager, IT network operations. 

Wärtsilä offers a lot of challenges and growth potential for people passionate about supporting business with world-class solutions. In the Solution Manager position you will support our solutions and participate in the ICT Production team continuously enhancing and extending the solutions to fit the business needs. Ideal candidate can work well with architects and operations and can take the needed role in the team, while keeping corporate objectives and end-users always in the focus. Good understanding on the end users and global business processes help to succeed in this role, but right attitude and sound technical skills are needed. 

You will be part of the global operational team and guide and support our multinational corporation and local offices in all planning, implementation, documentation and maintaining of the systems. 

A crucial part of the role is also to lead and participate in multifunctional matrix teams, in global security development projects together with Corporate Security and initiatives aligning objectives and resources across functions and business lines. 

Preferred location for this position is Finland (Helsinki or Vaasa), other major Wärtsilä locations in Europe can be considered. 

Responsibilities

• Act as the project lead for Wärtsilä Corporation in physical local network systems renewal project, guide and align all local country organization 
• Participate in creating guidance for system design to ensure long term continuity, compatibility and efficiency of the systems
• Evaluate, select and plan suitable technology roadmap for Wärtsilä needs
 
Requirements     

• Deep and broad understanding and experience of network device management and systems
• Understanding for the Software Defined networks and extensive experience in managing wired LAN and wireless networks as well as Wide Area Networks in global perspective
• Proven track record of network system renewal and design projects
• Able to direct multicultural change project in different locations and time zones in matrix mode
• Excellent written and spoken English language skills, ability to communicate complex IT terms and concepts in clear, concise and understandable way
• We appreciate experience and understanding in Wärtsilä IT systems and processes and understanding of security management system platforms
• Ability and willingness to travel internationally occasionally
