We're looking software engineers to join our core product team.

At Matchmade, we're building a new kind of marketplace that connects social media creators with advertisers and brands. It's a $10B industry, growing rapidly and ripe for disruption with data and automation. While we're building tools for marketers and creators, by heart we're a tech company on a mission to make influencer marketing fair and transparent for everyone. If we are successful, marketers don't waste their money on annoying spam, and people producing good content on social media get to make their living out of that.

Behind our marketplace lies an impressive amount of data, analysis and automation. We index and analyze over 2 billion Youtube videos and build automated workflows on top of that. Our tech stack consist of TypeScript, Python, React, Kafka, PostgreSQL and Kubernetes. We enjoy architecting our platform around small and well-defined microservices, but only when it makes sense.

We are in the ideal stage when to join a startup. On one hand, we have the product up and running, paying customers and top-notch investors, so our focus is on growth and scale as opposed to just surviving. On the other hand, it's still early days for us. We're a small team of 25 people (6 devs), so people joining now will have significant impact (and stake) on the future of the company.

As a software engineer at Matchmade, you will

• Design and implement features and improvements throughout our platform together with the team. What these are varies, but it could be for example new microservices to automate different workflows, data processing pipelines to index social media content, or ironing out delightful UIs. Just to name a few.
• Actively participate in product discovery and work with the rest of the product team to prioritize features, infrastructure improvements, paying back technical debt etc. The product team owns it's own roadmap, and everyone contributes to that beyond "just writing code"

What we are looking for

• At least a few years of experience in building web or data-intensive applications. The specific technologies don't matter much, but working knowledge of Typescript, Python or Postgres doesn't hurt
• Self-starter who is interested in understanding the product and business in addition to the technical details.
• Good communication skills and fluency in English

The position is first and foremost remote. We do have offices in Helsinki and Berlin, which are wonderful locations, but based in or near either is in no way required. For legal reasons, however, you should be eligible to work in either Finland or Germany.
