Job Summary:

We are looking for driving, knowledgeable and creative researchers to strengthen our efforts in concept development and standardization of 5G and 6G systems. In these efforts, we work together in diverse teams to define and realize new capabilities for future mobile networks, which are used by billions of people worldwide. This includes further increasing the network performance for mobile broadband applications, as well as new use cases for next generation radio networks.

In our unit at Ericsson Research, Research area Networks, we have the mission to develop and drive best-in-class procedures, protocols and architecture solutions for current and future wireless systems.

As a researcher in 5G/6G standardization, you will be working in an international team of world-class researchers with different backgrounds and experiences and including some of the key authorities and thought leaders world-wide on mobile communication. You will be involved in international standardization in 3GPP, either as a delegate attending the standardization meetings, or as part of the back-office preparing the material. You will write contributions to the standards and protect your ideas in patents. You will invent new concepts and solutions for 5G and 6G radio networks and may also be involved in evaluating their performance using state-of-the-art test-beds or radio network system simulators.

Competences we are looking for:

  • You like to work in an environment where you co-operate closely with your team colleagues, together striving to fulfill common targets.
  • You like to communicate with people and find it easy to explain your findings and knowledge to others.
  • You have very strong analytical skills and are eager to find innovative solutions to problems.
  • You should have a sound understanding of digital and wireless communications
  • Experience from standardization, especially in 3GPP is highly appreciated
  • You have an MSc or PhD degree in electrical engineering, computer science or related fields. Newly graduated or with work experience.

What's in it for you?

Here at Ericsson, our culture is built on over a century of fearless decisions. With us, you will no longer be dreaming of what the future holds – you will be redefining it. You won’t develop for the status quo, but will build what replaces it. Joining us is a way to move your career in any direction you want; with hundreds of career opportunities in locations all over the world, in a place where co-creation and collaboration are embedded into the walls. You will find yourself in a speak-up environment where empathy and humanness serve as cornerstones for how we work, and where work-life balance is a priority.
