Business Controller

At Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions, we deliver pioneering products and solutions to our global customers within the mining and construction segment. Part of our exciting business is the Surface Drilling Division, where our intelligent surface drill rigs bring the latest technology to surface mining and construction applications – we’d like to call it true power with absolute precision!

We are now looking for a proactive and business-minded Business Controller to join the us. This is a key position within the finance organization focusing on ensuring optimal business performance and continuous improvements as well as correctness and timely availability of consolidated financial monthly reporting for the division. The position will be based in Tampere, Finland.

Your role

In the Business Controller role, you are main part of the division’s global finance team and report directly to the division Business Control Director. Your main areas of responsibilities are to participate into monthly financial closing and reporting and ensure correctness of the Division figures, participate into quarterly financial forecasting, and facilitate the process towards reporting entities, develop the reporting processes and tools to enable more accurate and transparent information for different business stakeholders, monitor division business performance to enable the steering of the business, challenge teams to find continuous improvements on financial performance and ensure proper FX risk mitigation actions are in place for the Division. The role requires close collaboration with other teams within the division (sales, product management, R&D and operations) as well as sales areas around the world.

Your skills and qualifications

You have a suitable degree in Finance/Industrial Engineering & Management (preferably Master’s) with strong business acumen. You have at least 4-5 years of experience in Controlling, Accounting, Reporting/Forecasting. Experience of reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau), advanced Excel skills as well as good understanding of ERP systems (Lean system, MS Dynamics 365). Basic understanding of SQL/DAX are seen as an advantage as well as knowledge of IFRS standards.

Your way of working is proactive, systematic, and efficient and you are able to understand the context and the big picture. Our ideal candidate is a developing-minded team player with flexible and can-do attitude. Good communication (fluent in English, Finnish as an advantage) and strong interpersonal skills as well as the ability to prioritize and keep deadlines are also essential.
