Right now, we are looking for a Privacy Legal Counsel to the Privacy Team in Corporate Affairs in Telia Company.

Who are we?

I am Hele Jonsson and I am leading the Privacy Team. We are a dedicated team of Privacy Lawyers who are now in need of a new member as one of our colleagues is moving internally in Telia Company to another exiting role.

We are a group function, which means that you will become a Privacy Legal Counsel across our footprint with main focus on the Nordic and Baltic Countries. We are engaged into a wide variety of privacy legal tasks where innovation and business development go hand in hand with IT and product/service support. We are a team of privacy professionals where constant growth and exciting tasks are part of our daily work. 

We belong to Telia Company Corporate Affairs which consists of many lawyers from different markets with spread of focus areas and where exchange of knowledge, personal development, business-minded legal advisory and being on the forefront in the legal areas relevant to us is the core.

Your next challenge?

You will be providing proactive and harmonized business-minded and value-based legal advice across Telia Company. You will be Involved from stage “zero” into new or modified business initiatives (projects, products, processes, etc.) and will be setting privacy requirements for those initiatives.  

You will be working with Data Protection Impact Assessments and assist with Data Protection Agreement negotiations. You will work with GDPR and ePD, but also own and update legal documentation which ensure harmonized interpretations and application of data protection legislation across Telia Company. Additionally, you will be involved in privacy awareness-raising campaigns as well as train and educate colleagues in Telia Company.

Who are you?

Your personality:

• To start with, you think privacy is fun! We are a bunch of privacy nerds, so for us privacy is both our interest and work.  
• Effective, focused, detail-oriented, quality conscious and can work independently with lots of energy and motivation for all privacy related tasks.
• Interested in IT and technology, as majority of our internal stakeholders come from those areas.
• Able to take care of numerous initiatives at the same time, and with high stakeholder management skills as you will interact with the different units in the organization and make privacy understandable for your colleagues who are not lawyers/privacy experts.
• Interested in working across borders in both a physical and virtual setup.  

Your Experience:

• University degree in law from one of the Nordic or Baltic countries. Additional specialization on data protection and privacy and/or IT and technology is considered as a plus.  
• Working actively with privacy law 5+ years, preferably solid experience from e-privacy. 
• English is our working language, both when writing legal texts as well as in verbal communication, so that skill is important.
• CIPP/E certification is a plus, but not a requirement.
