GrecoLab at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Technology is led by Prof. Dario Greco and is part of the Unit of Toxicology and pharmacology. We are a research group in predictive system toxicology and pharmacology and we are interested in studying the effects of various types of chemical exposure on biological systems, and their primary mechanism of action. We are an innovative group working with well established knowledge in system toxicology, cheminformatics and the latest artificial intelligence technologies. Currently we are developing a tool that will help the safety assessment for chemical development to help reduce serious risks and increase the safety of humans and the environment. 

Job description

We are looking for Research Assistant to work on software developing. We are looking for an experienced Front-end developer. Our software stack currently consists of R, Python, JavaScript, Node.JS and mongoDB. It would be great if you could bring experience with some of them. Please note that experience in previous GUI development projects is mandatory, the framework can be decided by you, but state of the art technologies (e.g. JavaScript based technologies) are preferred. This position requires you to design the interface and technical structure of the frontend as well as to work independently. You will be the expert in our team! 

Requirements

We appreciate the following:

• experience with web app design, UI/UX, rigorous model-view-controller separation
• Node.JS/React/redux (or equivalent)
• Linux and Git
• Database: mongoDB
• Code maintenance, automated testing, continuous integration (CI), code style conformity and code review
• Good understanding of human-computer interaction 
• Understanding of computational graphs and pipelining
• Fluent in English
• experience with R, Python, Android/iOS development or experience with Cloud based application development

 We offer

The position will be part-time and it will be filled for a fixed-term until February 28, 2021.The expected starting date is as soon as possible, as mutually agreed upon by both parties. A trial period applies to all our new employees.

The salary will be based on both the job demands and the employee's personal performance in accordance with the University Salary System. The position of Research Assistant is placed on the job demand level 1 (the demand level chart for the teaching and research staff). In addition, employees will receive performance-based salary.
