Wärtsilä Shared Service Center (WSSC) supports the Wärtsilä companies in financial accounting and other operational tasks and acts as a gatekeeper to ensure compliance. WSSC is striving for harmonized one global Wärtsilä way of working worldwide with high quality, timely, effective and efficient processes. WSSC is sharing best practices and knowledge with focus on continuous development and operational excellence.

WSSC Period End Closing Services’ main focus areas are general ledger accounting and closing tasks. We are now looking for a Senior Accountant. Position will be located in Vaasa, Finland.

Responsibilities     
-Responsible for Treasury accounting in Parent Company as well as supporting all Wärtsilä network companies in treasury accounting process
-Handle controlling tasks to secure data quality before executing Daily and month-end accounting runs from Treasury Management System (Quantum) to SAP
-Daily bank statement postings in SAP
-Reconcile bank account statement balances with balances in SAP
-Monitor and clear mirror clearing, bank clearing, loan and other accounts being part of treasury accounting 
-Taking care of all closing activities related to treasury accounting, support in IG matching, Smartclose activities etc.
-Keeping trainings and answering to questions related to Treasury accounting
-Actively keeping contact with Treasury back and front office, as well as Treasury controller and other parties
-Develop daily and monthly routines in the area to be as automated as possible
-General ledger postings and period end closing adjustments, for Wärtsilä companies all around the world
-Monitoring that global SAP automated closing jobs (Smartclose) are proceeding according to timetable and without errors
-Monitor General ledger account balances and clearings 
-Participate in monitoring and implementation of best practices and harmonized way of working 
-Acting as one of the global key users for the general ledger postings and period end closing in SAP, assisting end-users


Requirements     
-B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Financial Accounting 
-Work experience from Financial Accounting, reporting and closing tasks
-Knowledge and experience of SAP FI module is a requirement
-Good understanding of financial accounting processes and reporting 
-Understanding and interest of different financial instruments seen as an advantage
-Quantum knowledge is seen as an advantage
-Basic understanding of IFRS, VAT, and WHT processes
-Strong analytical and reporting skills
-Forward thinker who can drive change  
-Goal focused with an analytical mindset
-Pro-active, self-driven, fast learner and good team-worker 
-Customer service skills 
-Fluency in English. Other languages seen as an advantage 
-Advanced IT skills
-Work experience from Shared Service Center or other global accounting services is seen as an advantage.
