About this opportunity

  • Focus on analysing, and in some instances modelling, the business and risks through the Solvency 2 framework and through our risk taxonomy framework, initially with a particular focus on the non-life company.
  • Independently drive operational tasks in implementing, and further developing, an effective risk management system to secure an updated risk profile for the company as a whole.
  • Produce risk and capital reporting and analysis, and proactively communicate related developments and issues to the Chief Risk Officer and risk management organisation, to ensure full transparency of the risk profile.
  • Independently prepare and develop high quality ad-hoc analysis, necessary financial models and reports to support the business and management in their decision making.
  • Support the Chief Risk Officer in implementing risk strategy, risk appetite and instructions and guidelines as defined within the Nordea Life & Pension Group and locally.
  • Play an active part in both Nordea Life Assurance Finland Ltd.’s and Nordea Insurance Finland Ltd.’s annual Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA).
  • Independently drive both Nordea Life Assurance Finland Ltd.’s and Nordea Insurance Finland Ltd.’s annual Solvency and Financial Condition Report (SFCR) and Regulatory Supervisory Report (RSR) reporting projects to the public and to the FIN-FSA respectively, in collaboration with the business.
  • Collaborate closely within the local and global risk management teams in the Nordea Life & Pension Group, with the local Chief Actuaries in both companies as well as with the local actuarial team and the rest of the business.
  • Drive own development and learning, and keep updated within own area of responsibility, to secure development in competences and to be able to provide specialist advise.

Who you are

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience from a quantitative role preferably in a non-life insurance company (e.g. risk management function, actuarial function or investment function).
  • Master’s degree in a quantitative subject (finance, mathematics or equivalent).
  • Practical knowledge of the Solvency 2 framework is preferred.
  • Actuarial knowledge and/or experience including a good understanding of stochastic calculus is considered a strong advantage.
  • A good understanding of the capital markets and investment products, as well as of insurance products and their dynamics, is considered a strong advantage.
  • Demonstratable practical experience from creating, programming, documenting and maintaining financial models and analysis tools for your own use and for use by others is considered a strong advantage (e.g. in VBA, R or C#).
  • Knowledge of data bases, ability to work with and structure large data sets, and practical knowledge of constructing and maintaining data base queries (SQL) is beneficial.
  • A professional certification (FRM, CERA, CFA, CEFA, SHV or equivalent) is beneficial.
  • The internal language in Nordea Life Assurance Finland Ltd. and Nordea Insurance Finland Ltd. is Finnish, and as you will also drive the SFCR reporting projects, fluency in both written and spoken Finnish is important. Other than that, all analysis, reports and presentations that we produce is in English, and all projects that you will take part in on Nordea Life & Pension Group level are conducted in English, and therefore, fluency in written and spoken English is very essential. Strong Swedish skills are considered an advantage.
