As the UX research lead at Yousician, you’ll get to build and communicate a deep understanding about a topic that millions of people are passionate about around the world: learning to express yourself through music. 

As our first dedicated UX research professional, you’ll have great opportunity and responsibility to shape both your own role and our ways of working with UX research at Yousician, supported by awesome team members across product design, marketing, and data science. Your work will have a profound impact in our product strategy, roadmaps, and marketing activities.

 WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Define Yousician’s ways of working with user insights, together with our design, product, marketing, and data analytics teams. This mostly focuses on deep, qualitative user insights, but also surveys, industry trends, and market research.
  • Advocate for the users' voice and build awareness of user types, needs, motivations, and behaviors across the company. 
  • Proactively identify opportunities to serve our users better, both with our products and our marketing.
  • Be the go-to person for planning, leading and conducting UX research, including strategic research for product and marketing, as well as exploratory, validation and iterative research for product design. 
  • Mentor product team members and more junior research specialists with UX research
  • Communicate user insights in a compelling way across the organization to translate research findings into impact.
  • Manage partnerships to ensure we have the right partners to turn to for specialised research needs.
  • Collaborate with PM’s, designers, engineers, data-scientists, marketing, and customer support to build in research at multiple stages of the user journey.

 WHO YOU ARE

  • 5+ years of experience in applied product research, with a focus on qualitative insights. Can be a combination of academic and industry experience. 
  • Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Behavioral Economics, Anthropology, Sociology, or similar.
  • Track record of running qualitative studies that uncover deep insights about customer behavior and reasons behind it.
  • Strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods, and the confidence to recommend the best framework for the need. 
  • Excellent collaboration, communication and presentation skills in english. Turning insights into impact is a key requirement for this role.
  • Experience with improving processes and ways of working around UX research.
  • You can develop a well-informed point of view, and can articulate the reasoning behind your recommendations.
  • You are able to manage several projects simultaneously, with input from multiple team members.
  • You understand the power of great user experiences as a whole, but care deeply about the fine details.
  • You can think long-term, but act quickly.
  • Experience working with consumer-facing product organisations is highly appreciated.
