You'll join our Product Design team and work closely with all our cross-functional product teams to inspire millions of people to play the music they love. 

What you’ll do

As Yousician’s first dedicated UX writer, you’ll get the opportunity to shape the way we speak to our community of aspiring musicians, based on existing brand-level guidelines. You will have a key role in setting the bar for UX writing at Yousician, and evolving our content style guide with the support of our design and marketing teams. You’ll get to join the design process all the way from establishing the content needs to refining the finest details of a delightful user experience, in close collaboration with designers, product managers, and engineers. You’ll also collaborate closely with our marketing teams and copywriters in Helsinki and New York to ensure our voice remains recognisable and inspiring throughout the user journey.

• Write the words that inspire millions of people around the world to pick up their instrument and play the music they love. 
• Create written content in our products – yousician and guitar tuna – with focus on delightful and clear microcopy.
• Create longer text contents for example on our website and newsletters that offer advice and inspiration to our community.
• Team up with designers and product leads to discover and define content needs that improve our user experience as a whole.
• Shape the tone and language of written communication in our products, with the support of existing brand-level guidelines. 
• Own and continuously evolve our content style guide for product design, and advocate for the use of these guidelines in our product design process.
• Establish ways of working with UX writing at Yousician, in collaboration with our product managers and designers. 
• Work in close collaboration with our marketing copywriter to maintain a recognisable and inspiring voice throughout the user journey.

Who you are

• This is a mid to senior level role that can be adapted to your level of experience – we are looking for an exceptional team member and the role can be adapted as we find the right match. We expect at least a couple of years of previous experience in UX writing, copywriting, or content design. 
• You have excellent writing and editing skills in english. Most of our user base is the US, so this role requires native-level language skills.
• You understand the power of great user experiences as a whole, but care deeply about the fine details.
• You can think long-term, but act quickly.
• You can develop a well-informed point of view, and can articulate the reasoning behind your choices, but remain open to adjusting based on input from others.
• Are comfortable working with several projects simultaneously, with input from multiple team members.
• Previous experience contributing to UX writing style guides is considered a big plus
• Our products are available in several languages, so previous experience working with localisation is considered a big plus.
