We are currently looking for a Data Engineer to ensure that the data we have is available for analysis, general data science and reporting.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Our product and data collection capabilities are continuously improving. We have rich data, but we need to get it in the right place and in the right format for it to be useful. We already have a working setup using databricks, so you won’t need to build things from scratch. 

You will enable analysis by bringing data from various data sources into a data warehouse running on Snowflake. These sources include various relational and document databases as well as APIs and flat files - just to name a few. You will also make analysis easier by pre-processing, data wrangling and sometimes feature engineering. You will own the data analysis infrastructure from implementation to maintenance, keeping things running smoothly. 

Responsibilities/requirements

• Maintain and further develop our ETL processes on Databricks
• Data Modeling/Warehousing
• Scripting/programming experience (esp. Python)
• Hands-on cloud technology skills (We’re on AWS)
• Previous experience of developing Spark is a must

Nice to have, or willing to learn

• Feature engineering/data enrichment.
• JavaScript is useful, as we collect a lot of data through our UI layer.
• Knowledge of the finance industry is considered a plus.
