We are looking for an enthusiastic and results oriented professional to join us in the important task of acquiring, developing and supporting optimal solutions for Orion. System specialist co-operates with different stakeholders like Information management services teams and Business system owners, supporting and developing different IT solutions.

Description of position

You will focus on Laboratory and Production systems and services, you shine on supporting the users in your service area and you excel in solving problems and continuously improving our solutions. You innovate new solutions and ways of working together with Orion’s business functions. Finding new solutions to fit business needs is natural to you and you understand the possibilities to utilize new innovations.

Responsibilities:

- Constant follow-up, development and change management of Laboratory and Production systems, with solution owners and IT Infra Service managers, as well as with different vendors.
- Development of workstation services and models, standardization in accordance with Orion office workstation services
- Problem solving of various technical issues in different levels
- Installations and patching of different technical components, according to Orion change management process, in co-operation with users, process owners and vendors
- Technical documentation
- Testing
- Development of co-operation and networking within Information management function, as well as with business users, in the area of technical laboratory and Production infrastructure matters and processes.
- Utilize external resources and networks efficiently
- Develop yourself and your work continuously

Description of the unit

Orion Information Management (IM) employs 80 people, of which approximately two thirds are located in Espoo. Other locations are Turku, Kuopio, Hanko, Mumbai and Nottingham. We work in close cross-organizational collaboration to support Orion business in achieving its strategic targets not only by ensuring the availability of IT services but also by constantly looking for new innovations to match the current and future business needs.

Requirements

You are expected to have more than 2 years of wide experience from IT infrastructure services like workstations, networks, firewalls, servers&capacity., as well systems service management and support. Taking ownership of and completing tasks at hand is natural for you. You are motivated by solving problems and seeing the results of your work in effective use. Being successful in the role requires understanding of what brings value to the business, curiousness, excellent collaboration and communication skills, positive “can do” attitude as well as taking responsibility.

Also fluent spoken Finnish language is mandatory, reading and producing Finnish is a good skill to have.
