Wärtsilä Energy Business, Area Africa & Europe is now looking for a target driven and energetic (Senior) Project Manager to join the team.

In this role you work with customer delivery projects related to Engine Based Power Plants and Hybrid Power Plants including Battery Storage, mostly in European Markets. Your role covers the whole project execution starting from supporting the sales activities in your respective expertise area until warranty period ends.

As a Senior Project Manager you are responsible for the success of the complete delivery project and you are also the primary contact  and negotiation partner towards customer and other main stakeholders.

 Your key responsibilities include for example the following:

• Leading and coaching the project team members involved in execution of projects
• Leading and coaching the site team members involved in execution of projects
• Leading project planning and project execution.
• Leading contract management, requirement management for the projects
• Leading project engineering, purchasing and subcontracting activities
• Responsible for quality, time and cost in the project
• Maintaining customer relationship and ensuring the customer satisfaction

In your role you will additionally:

• Demonstrate leadership by following Wärtsilä Project Management Methodology and Business Directives
• Apply Project Management Best Practices of the organisation
• Support sales in the Area Africa & Europe in dedicated sales projects

An ideal candidate will have:  

• Comprehensive understanding of the energy sector, power generation markets and specifically deregulated electricity market design 
• Multiple year of Project Management experience from the most complex new PP projects
• Proven track-record both from commercial understanding and contractual skills with customers
• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills 
• Influencing power and problem solver mindset
• Entrepreneurial attitude, goal oriented with skills to develop solutions for the customers and drive to deliver the extra mile
• Multicultural sensitivity, ability to build relations and lead multi-cultural teams 
• Strategic forward thinker, positive mind-set and proactive way of working. 
• Proven track record from project management , Minimum 5 years experience working with senior customer decision makers (CFO, CEO, VP, President, etc.) 
• Good skills in English and Germany (both written and spoken), in addition good skills in Portuguese, Spanish and Italy is considered as an advantage
• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering (or similar)
