Post-doctoral Researcher - Single-cell genomics
We seek a highly talented postdoctoral researcher to join our Single-cell omics team at Turku Bioscience Centre. The selected candidate will focus on implementation of novel single-cell analysis techniques and support researchers in their use. The candidate will work in close collaboration with researchers affiliated with the InFLAMES Flagship on the fields of genomics, immunology and bioinformatics.

Key Responsibilities
- Implementation and troubleshooting of new single-cell genomics applications, including
- RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, multi-omics and spatial transcriptomics
- Supporting researchers in the use of single-cell genomics platforms and pursuing collaborative
- research projects
- Development of quality control strategies
Essential qualifications
- PhD in life sciences or other relevant discipline
- Hands-on experience with genomics and cell culture techniques
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication in English
Desirable qualifications
- Experience with immunology, single-cell genomics and next generation sequencing
- Hands-on experience with processing of blood and solid tissue samples
- Experience with lab automation systems
- Strong scientific publication record
Salary
The salary is determined by the collective agreement system of Finnish universities. The successful applicant will belong to UTU research personnel. The salary for a Post-Doc is on average 3100 -3600€/month. Salaried positions in Finland automatically include payments to a pension fund, unemployment funds, a good occupational healthcare and even a holiday allowance.
Duration of the contract
The start of employment is negotiable. The position is fixed-term until end of 2024, with a possibility for extension. The position is subject to a six-month trial period.
