Wärtsilä Global Operative Control Centre is a virtual organisation whose primary responsibility is operative controlling across all functional areas and product lines within Wartsila. The GOCC working environment is internationally orientated. Projects, production locations, Wärtsilä offices and suppliers can be found all over the world. Many different nationalities, languages and cultures are involved. 


We are looking for a Controller to join our Service Projects team. You will be responsible for Operative Project Controlling utilizing 
Wärtsilä’s processes and tools. You will also assist the business in achieving its goals. You will be accompanied by supportive and driven team members who are experts in their fields. Most of the team members are located in Vaasa, Finland, but you will also have colleagues from other locations in Europe, America, and Asia.


This is a permanent position. The preferred location is Vaasa, Finland, but other locations in Europe can also be discussed.


A Controllers Main Responsibilities are:


• Supporting and communicating with Business and other relevant stakeholders
• Managing and analysing the data quality in the project functional area to ensure the correct financial reporting
• Perform financial analysis of projects and highlights risks
• Monitor orderbook quality and billing due list
• Provide feedback to the project organisation with regards to processes and ways of working
• Perform period end closing tasks working closely with the local team and wider organisation
• Actively challenge convention where there could be a need to improve processes


The Requirements for this position:


• B.Sc or M.Sc. Degree, preferably in Finance and Accounting 
• Good financial knowledge, reporting and analysing skills
• Previous experience in finance and control 
• Good communication and team working skills
• Be able to explain complex issues in a simple manner to our stakeholders
• Excellent skills in English, both verbal and written


You will shine in this position if you have:


• Excellent SAP skills, especially in FICO
• Good skills in reporting tools such as QlikView
• Skills various process automation tools (UiPath, PowerBI, VisualBasic)
• Understanding of business and system integration
• Good knowledge of project processes is strong advantage
• Good understanding of what drives the key processes within projects controlling
• Ability to work efficiently in a virtual team / organisation
• Proactive mentality and progressive attitude towards tasks and goals
