We have recently developed and renewed our R&D organization to meet the needs of changing environment within the pharmaceutical industry. More specifically, the need to commercialise assets in the pipeline and secure the needed medical support to existing and future product portfolio. We are in the process of developing and renewing our Medical Information activities and as part of our ongoing development, we are looking for a Medical Information Officer to work in the Global Medical Affairs Department. The position is located in Espoo.

Description of position

The responsibilities of this strategic role include the following (including, but not be limited to);

  • Receiving and processing Medical Information Enquiries from external and internal customers, primarily from Finland
  • Providing accurate customer responses in a timely manner
  • Identifying and reporting Adverse events and Product Quality Complaints to the appropriate departments
  • Supporting Medical Information vendors in providing accurate and scientific information to customers
  • Carrying out extensive literature searches within databases and publications
  • Creating, maintaining and developing standard response documents and FAQs
  • Providing support in creating responses for escalated enquiries/global colleagues
  • Running and reviewing required monthly and ad-hoc reports
  • Supportive training activities for internal stakeholders
  • Troubleshooting and maintaining user access in a Medical Information System
  • Reviewing promotional marketing materials and information materials ensuring compliance
  • Supporting other Medical Affairs activities as needed

Description of unit

Global Medical Affairs is part of Orion's Research and Development unit and collaborates intensely with several other internal and external stakeholders. Our Department is responsible for the medical support of propriety, generic, biosimilar, OTC- and all the self-care products from developmental and commercialization stage throughout the whole life cycle. We also supervise the post-marketing clinical studies and publications.

Job Requirements

  • A degree in life or health sciences, pharmacy preferable
  • Previous experience in Medical Information and reviewing promotional materials beneficial
  • Experience in data case entry beneficial
  • Ability to understand technical, medical and scientific texts and search common scientific databases
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Good IT skills and experience in data management system beneficial
  • Organisational, time-management and prioritisation skills
  • Knowledge of EU and Finnish legislation and guidelines around the Pharmaceutical Industry, including Data Privacy laws beneficial

General Requirements: The chosen candidate must be able to work in a compliant and confidential manner. We expect from all employees the ability to work both independently and in a multidisciplinary team of various stakeholders. Excellent collaboration and oral and written communication skills in Finnish and English are a must, Swedish is advantageous.
