Wärtsilä Marine Power, Power Supply, R&D and Engineering, Testing & Validation is looking for Automation or Electrical Engineer as our activities are growing.
 
As Automation or Electrical Engineer, you are working in the front end of Wärtsilä’s engine and technology development. We are offering you a possibility to participate in the development of future engine technologies and to contribute to the accelerating realization of decarbonization objectives as a part of a skilled test team.

Location:

The position is permanent, and the location will be in Vaasa, Finland.  
 
As Automation or Electrical Engineer, you will focus on these responsibilities: 

  • Maintenance, development and upgrading of test engines and test infra
  • Planning and executing measurements and automation related activities
  • Planning, organizing and executing tests on laboratory engines and test rigs
  • Analysing and reporting of test results
  • Verification of correct and properly saved measurement data
  • Updating and developing test methods and test facilities
  • Usage and development of different control and measurement programs
  • Supporting different activities in engine and technology testing


To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

  • Relevant technical education (BSc or MSc in automation or electrical engineering)
  • Interest in and basic knowledge of engine technology. Knowledge of 4-stroke engine technology is an advantage
  • Good skills in control & measurement systems is an advantage
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical drawings
  • Good skills in communication and documentation
  • Good team working skills, as well as ability to work independently
  • Good command of English and Finnish or Swedish

 
We also hope that you demonstrate a clear attitude in:

  • Making things happen by executing measurement setups and doing electrical and/or automation activities on test engines and laboratory engine test cells
  • High quality by ensuring that the test results are reliable and in compliance with industry specific standards and Wärtsilä guidelines
  • Cooperation by balancing the workload in the team
