Wärtsilä’s Global Field Services team is at the core of Wӓrtsilӓ’s smart marine strategy and fulfilling the company purpose by providing state of the art technology to marine customers, who need to have their vessels operated beyond compliance. In our Finnish Global Field Services team (located in Turku & Vaasa) and currently we have open position for Service Engineer and/or Superintendent electrical & automation. Service Engineers and Superintendents provide services and commissioning activities for our customers all over the world with harmonised ways and tools.
The preferred location for this position is in Vaasa, Finland but we are flexible in terms of your location in Finland. Positions require travelling globally around 150 days per a year.
Typically, our team performs and leads commissioning, overhauls, trouble shootings, on-site repairs, audits, measurement and analysis as well as upgrades and retrofits on marine and land-based installations with Wärtsilä newest engines and equipment. Safety, environment, and wellbeing are our foundation, and we never compromise them in our daily work.
Your work will focus on these responsibilities
• Pre-commissioning and commissioning of Wärtsilä sold equipment of latest automation technologies for marine installations
• Troubleshooting by identifying failures, adjusting, attending (sea) trial runs and testing of installations according to instructions and expected performance requirements
• Perform installation audits at various land and sea-based installations
• Prepare Service reports and travel expenses on time and with expected Wärtsilä quality
• Participate with improvement of new products when performing warranty activities
• Promote Wärtsilä products and services
• Ensure customer satisfaction with job performance & through positive interactions with customers
You will succeed in this position when you have
• Preferably B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical or Automation or in e.g. in Mechatronics
• Team player with a positive mind-set
• Desire to learn new things
• Technical problem-solving skills
• Good command of English, both oral and written
• Willingness to travel globally
Considered as an advantage previous experience in
• UNIC or PLC/Wois systems
• Diesel, Dual Fuel, Gas engine installation and troubleshooting
• LNGPac and engine plant automation installation and troubleshooting
• Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR)
