Reporting to the Manager of Life Cycle Management, the Concept Development Manager will support development of services sales and management related concepts, guidelines and processes for battery energy storage system customers. In addition, the Lifecycle Development Manager will support in reviewing service offers and contracts.

A successful candidate will be comfortable working with several projects in parallel crossing disciplines such as sales, legal, procurement, construction, services, and software development and deployment. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter that can work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team. The candidate should thrive in a fast paced, constantly changing environment while the industry and company go through substantial growth. 

Accountabilities: 
• Develop lifecycle related concepts, guidelines, pricing and materials
• Responsible for reviewing service agreement offers and contracts
• Prepare and edit ESS technical documents between ES&O and stakeholders (customers, Wartsila service and support)
• Assist Sales with Service Agreement terms and pricing and ensure service offers align with Wartsila policy.
• Develop tools to streamline commercial support activities
• Conduct operational and financial analysis
• Provide internal trainings on lifecycle solutions
• May assist in and / or provide input to the formulation, development and/or revision of operating policies, processes, procedures and strategies for the organization, as appropriate.
• Identify, track, and manage service offer contract level risks and issues, escalating as necessary
• Provide project status updates to Manager of Life Cycle management and senior management team
• Manage and coordinate with various customers, subcontractors, external, and internal parties
• Successfully manage relationships with the client and all internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications: 
• Proficient in MS Project and the MS Office Suite
• Familiarity with SAP and Salesforce
• Familiarity with software projects, Agile Software Development, and JIRA
• Ability to read and understand energy storage system contracts
• Interface with external product vendors to understand the warranty specifications of their products and services
• Experience with the energy storage and renewable energy projects and products (bi-directional inverters, various battery chemistries, PV, wind turbines, flywheels, etc.)
• Experience and understanding of utility generation project engineering, construction, and commissioning processes
• Basic understanding of Inverter, Converter, Transformer, Battery, 
• Applicant should have good English communication skills, be motivated, organized, self-sufficient, personable, curious, and able to complete tasks without strict oversight.

• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
• Strong work ethic
• Energetic and enthusiastic approach
• Ability to travel to domestic and international project meetings (Approx. 10 - 25%)


Location for this position can be either in the United States or in Finland.Preferably one of the following;
Herndon, Virginia, or  Emeryville, California, USA 
Vaasa or Helsinki, Finland
