Our financial industry client is looking for a skilled Java Developer to join their team in Helsinki/Tampere.

This position is a part of international IT Development team located in Helsinki providing development services for the whole organization (operating in few markets around the world) with strong plans for expansion on new markets worldwide. We are a truly global start-up with its own culture focused on delivery and effectiveness. We are working with modern tools in cloud.

Senior Java Developer is part of an experienced development team building world-class financial services platform. You are a seasoned developer, with the ability to communicate effectively. You are able to evaluate architectural solutions, consult business directors and support junior developers. We are developing a large-scale, complex and global financial services platform with a mix of both inhouse and outsourced highly-skilled developers with agile ideology. We require good teamwork skills. Experience of globally distributed teams is considered as a strong advantage. But the most important is your passion and ability to keep on learning on new technologies and solutions.

The role is based in Helsinki/Tampere but with responsibility for IT development across all Digital operations and markets.

What you will be required to deliver in your new role? 

• You will work as part of the IT Development team to ensure that the IT development plan is delivered    according to business objectives
• You will take a leading role in running the software development aspect of major IT projects
• Implement modern, scalable and high-quality back-end for digital business
• Consulting / proposing new solutions in line with business development
• Helping stakeholders to find best way to implement new solutions
• Working with colleagues across the IT Operations team to ensure the security of the IT estate across the company

We hope you are a passionate developer and you like sharing your knowledge. You have courage to continuously explore, learn, propose and implement new technologies. You have solid understanding of Java, Spring and Hibernate technologies, and you also have worked with MySQL, Git, Web Services and Single Page Applications in your previous projects. You have a deep understanding of agile methodologies and continuous deployment, and you communicate fluently in English. You also have experience from test driven development and from implementing large architecture projects, and you like implementing coding standards. All experience with databases, AWS infrastructure and security is considered as an advantage.
