About this opportunity

  • Be accountable for developing transition and target architectures that provides explicit guidance and steering for initiatives in the context of the enterprise data roadmap.
  • Provide data architecture solution design and architectural leadership that includes creation of content relating to business, application, process and technology architecture viewpoints.
  • Craft architectural blueprints to support coordinated realisation of multiple data centric initiatives across the bank. It includes documenting and diagramming conceptual, logical and physical architectures across the viewpoints listed. The candidate must also be able to articulate benefits and drawbacks of various design options and recommend solutions that deliver the most business value while limiting technical debt.
  • Hands on data modelling, data physicalisation and analytical skills to further drive technical execution using a range of data mining / modelling applications.
  • Educate and assist stakeholders with Group Architecture’s governance framework and associated processes on the adoption of the data governance recipe and quality assure the various assets required for regulatory and compliance deliverables for consumption by group internal audit and the European Central Bank (ECB)
  • Ensure that the architecture roadmap is aligned with the business strategy of each of the bank’s business domain to help them achieve their respective objectives, improve operational efficiency or marketplace competitiveness – while staying within risk appetite and complying with regulations.

  • Have the ability to work with engineers, developers, project managers, as well as C-level executives to demonstrate Group Architecture’s value proposition.
  • Communicate and influence at all levels of the organisation and communicate complex concepts in clear and understandable ways to build understanding.
  • Build effective relationships with other architects and stakeholders across the organisation to facilitate alignment of the enterprise data architecture in relation to other domains.
  • Have the ability to communicate the enterprise data architecture recommendations to a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Guide and advice stakeholders to resolve architectural issues to support the implementation of the target picture.
  • Drive strategic discussions for evolving the enterprise data architecture to deliver reduced complexity, enhanced data management, cost efficiencies, improved agility, reduced risk, and/or improved business capabilities.
  • Adapt and respond to change and work effectively to resolve ambiguity.  
  • Are creative and have a strong desire for innovation.
  • Keep focus on own continuous development and learning as well as mentor others to build knowledge and improve overall effectiveness.
  • 8+ years of related work experience in the areas of Data Governance & Modelling, Business Intelligence, Reporting and Analytics, AI & Machine Learning, Data Warehousing and/or Master Data Management.
  • 8+ years of related work experience with relational DBMS, big data including Hadoop and preferably Cloudera stack, and NoSQL such as Cassandra and Neo4j.
  • 5+ years’ experience in working with industry standard data models like IBM Party Data model and /or Teradata Financial Service LDM
  • 5+ years’ experience with Data Management and Data Quality tooling, preferably IBM MDM & InfoSphere suite, or alternatives such as Oracle or Informatica. Experience with Scala and/or Apache Spark for data event streaming is desired.
  • 3+ years’ experience with cloud-based data platforms including Amazon Web Services and other PaaS vendors such as Snowflake.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive development of target and transition architectures and to craft fit-for-purpose architecture content that provides explicit guidance for large and complex transformation initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience with design of traditional data warehouses to support analytical, machine learning and AI use cases such as real-time decisioning
  • Demonstrated experience with integration technologies, methods and architecture patterns to support batch, real-time and near-real-time data integration to support operational, analytical and reporting use cases.
  • Proficient with business analysis, software engineering, integration and orchestration, technical solution design, and risk and quality management.
  • Prior experience in full-service banking across lines of business i.e. Retail, Wholesale, Institutional, Wealth and Insurance
  • Prior team management experience required, preferably in a matrix organisation.
