Wärtsilä Marine Power, Power Supply is looking for a Senior Product Expert to join the Catalyst Systems, Products team.  Qualified candidates will be responsible for keeping our external and internal customers happy by ensuring our products are fully operational in the field. The successful candidate will be working in a flexible and relatively small unit with a growing business and product portfolio. With this position we offer a suitable mixture of travelling and office work.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter that can work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team. The candidate should thrive in a fast paced, constantly changing environment while the industry and company go through substantial growth.
 
Preferred location for this position is in Vaasa, Finland.

Main Responsibilities:

The Senior Product Engineer will have the following duties and responsibilities:
• Be the go-to expert on Wärtsilä selective catalytic reduction systems (SCR) globally, with specific focus on Power Plant SCR’s and PLC Automation.
• Provide expert support to Wärtsilä delivery projects, warranty departments and service network personnel on marine and power installations.
• Perform field and office activities according to the work plan for our land-based SCR (selective catalytic reduction) and our marine based SCR.  
• Perform advanced troubleshooting on specific equipment or equipment family (limited to SCR related equipment like: pumps, valves, emission analysers, sensors, automation etc.). 
• Report the findings and suggest product improvements internally. 
• Execute SCR system commissioning in complex power plant installations.
• Interact with internal and external customers during the work execution. 
• Provide product training to Wärtsilä service network engineers. 
• Participate in product management and development activities on request.
• Expected travelling days: 50-80 year.

Minimum Experience and Educational Requirements:  
• Minimum BSc level education
• 3 years of relevant experience
• Solid PLC knowledge and experience.
• Experience with auxiliary equipment in general
• Good skills in electrical & automation engineering
• Basic knowledge in process and mechanical engineering
• Good command of English, both oral and written.
• Proactive, systematic, and organized way of working. 
• Good skills in communication and customer orientation 
• Good team working ability and skills. 
• Readiness to travel: monthly.
• Marine and/or power plant industry experience seen as a big benefit.
• Experience with SCR systems or other emission control solutions seen as a benefit.
