University of Helsinki offers a Trainee Programme for our international master students. You are eligible to apply if you are an international student enrolled in a University of Helsinki master programme.

We are now looking for a TRAINEE in Global Politics and Communications (GPC).

The duration of a traineeship is 1 September to 31 December 2021 (four months) of part-time (50%) work, leaving time for studies as well. The salary of a trainee is €700 per month for a part-time (50%) trainee.

This trainee will work directly on a team with the GPC Programme Director to generate a internally published report on comparable MA programs to assist with the development of our degree programme. The trainee with conduct the research and will author the report which will be due 2-4 weeks prior to the conclusion of the traineeship. Trainee will receive input from programme track leaders and faculty regarding areas of particular concern and interest. Working with the GPC Programme Director, trainee will decide which comparable international masters programs (to all three tracks) to incorporate into the report. After preliminary research, a classification of programme features will be identified, a research agenda will be created. This may include but not be limited to disciplinarity of programmes, size, curricula, networks, post-graduate achievements of students, and advertising. Student will work on team with Programme Director and other faculty to update GPC website. This document will be used to develop the GPC programme in the years ahead, and can serve as a template for maintaining un updated sense of GPC’s international position in the field of World Politics and Communications MA programs.

VALUED SKILLS

Valued skills are: research experience, strong oral and written communication skills, independent and collaborative work experience, ability to meet deadlines, experience working to accommodate diverse opinions, needs, and interests, and individual initiative. A completed written report or thesis can be used to corroborate some of the required skills.
