We are now looking for a

TRAINEE at the University of Helsinki Language Centre.

Your main tasks as a trainee are to assist in organizing different language learning and culture-related activities with and for international students. Activities include e.g. language clubs, workshops and the Course Assistant Program. You will be part of the Support for Learning and Teaching Unit and with a special focus on internationalization and guidance. You will assist the team in managing the communication and collaboration surrounding the ongoing projects. Among the projects connected with the Course Assistant Program is a collaboration with Finnish high schools. The traineeship also includes updating the University of Helsinki Language Centre website, intranet and social media. You will have the possibility to produce content for the Language Centre, for example by making instruction videos for the Course Assistant Program. In addition, the trainee assists in organizing and carrying out internal seminars and training sessions.

We expect you to have excellent skills in spoken and written English. You possess an active way of working and good presentation and teamwork skills and an interest in language and communication learning. You are an advanced user of Microsoft Office tools. Other language skills, as well as pedagogical and administrative experience, are an asset.

The duration of a traineeship is 1 September to 31 December 2021 (four months) of part-time (50%) work, leaving time for studies as well. The salary of a trainee is €700 per month for a part-time (50%) trainee.
